A critically ill teen with Covid-19 at St Georges hospital in Tooting was one of the first in the UK to receive a new antibody treatment

17 year old Max Kahdar is high risk as he was born with a heart condition which means he’s immunosuppressed.

He was given the lifesaving drug Ronapreve yesterday, which is made up of two monoclonal antibodies, after he tested positive for covid-19.

The drug was approved after results from the RECOVERY trial showed it reduced hospital stays by 4 days and risk of death by a fifth.
