A man from Croydon has been found guilty of stabbing his mother’s partner to death in an unprovoked attack last November.

35 year old Nicholas Jones pleaded guilty to manslaughter due to diminished responsibility.

He has been handed an indefinite custodial hospital order under the Mental Health.

Jones attacked Paul McCarroll (pictured) as he sat in bed scrolling through his phone with Nicholas's mother.

He told officers who arrived at the scene that he had been hearing voices in his head for years.
