A supported living service in Purley has been put into special measures during its first inspection
People at Parkhill Support Services Brighton Road told the watchdog they did not always feel safe, with some at risk of harm.
The CQC says when staff raised concerns about abuse, this wasn’t reported to the relevant authorities.
New registered manager Uche Wemambu told Radio Jackie that six new staff will be starting “very soon”, and there will be regular meetings with staff and clients.
Specifically, team meetings will be every two weeks, and clients will be met every month.
There will also be health and safety officers in place, and specific staff appointed to medication, nutrition and mental health.
Staff are also to undergo safeguarding courses from Croydon Council.
She adds that on Monday, staff will meet and an action plan is being worked on.
Initial assessments have also said to have been completed.
Long hours will discouraged and will “stop very soon”, and only permitted two days in a week.
She also says that this afternoon, there will be a barbecue for all staff and the people they support.
