Levi Bellfield has allegedly confessed to being in the area of Kent where Lin and Megan Russell were murdered in 1996.

Bellfield is already serving life sentences for the murders of Milly Dowler in Walton, Amelie Delagrange in Twickenham and Marsha McDonnell in Hampton. 

The Sun is reporting to have seen a 15-page statement sent to the 53 year old’s lawyer from prison detailing his visits to Chillenden. 

DCI Colin Sutton led the team that brought Bellfield to justice.

Speaking to us in 2019, he doubted his involvement in the 1996 murders. 

Michael Stone has twice been found guilty of murdering the mother and daughter in Kent in 1996.

He was also found guilty of attempting to murder Megan's sister, Josie.

He has always maintained his innocence.
