Over £100m in funding has been cut for building a new hospital in Belmont.

The budget has dropped from £511 to £400m.

It’s due to replace the A&E, maternity, and other units at Epsom and St Helier.

There are calls for a new consultation on the development, due to a reduction in the number of beds, and concerns the design is now unaffordable.

We’ve contacted the Department for Health and Social Care for comment.
