Police in Teddington say there will continue to be a presence in the area, despite the impending closure of the police station.

The new Inspector for Richmond, Jon McLoughlin, says he knows it’s caused “understandable concern”.

However, he says they are looking at places that officers can attend to prolong their time in their neighbourhoods. 

The Mayor of London says the station is not needed to meet officer growth requirements, and the frontline needs to be prioritised over unneeded.
