The by election in Epsom triggered by the death of a former mayor has been won by his successor in the party.

Graham Jones from the Residents Association won the Cuddington seat with more votes than the rest of the candidates combined.

Former Mayor Rob Foote died following an accident at Brands Hatch racecourse in July.

Epsom and Ewell is one of only two residents association run councils in the country.
