The foreign secretary will be questioned by MPs today on his plans for Afghanistan
Among the questions he’s likely to be asked are what’s being done to get the remaining UK citizens and Afghani allies out of the country. Labour have suggested that there could be 7,000 Afghans with a claim for resettlement, something he’s likely to be asked about. There are also concerns about ISIS-K, a new terrorist group, and how the UK will engage with the Taliban. The Esher and Walton MP has been criticised by some for his response, admitting “in hindsight” he should have returned from his holiday in Crete sooner.
