The MP for Spelthorne says he's confident there won't be gas supply emergencies this winter - despite the growing energy crisis.

Kwasi Kwarteng has held talks with suppliers as wholesale gas prices surge.

It could have a knock on effect for small suppliers - who fear going under - while customers could face higher costs.

But Mr Kwarteng has told MPs he's confident consumers won't be left in the dark.
