The Petrol Retailers Association says more than half of its members' filling stations now have both unleaded and diesel in stock.
But 27 % are completely out of both. Fuel levels at refineries are normal, but panic buying has caused many forecourts to run dry. The trade body says garage staff are reporting a 'high level' of verbal and physical abuse. The Leader of Reigate and Banstead Council, Mark Brunt, says all the area’s services are operating as normal. He adds that they’re working closely with their partners offering mutual aid. On Monday, Surrey County Council resisted calling a major incident.
