Volunteers at the Thames in Battersea have found over 27,000 wet wipes in just two days

Charity Thames21 says it’s “clear” that the problem is not going away soon, due to the widespread nature of the problem.

They’re telling people to purchase biodegradable wipes, and not to flush them.

The problem was first noticed when huge mounds were discovered at Battersea, Hammersmith and Barnes, but the group has now identified more hotspots.
