Wandsworth Council is urging to private landlords and residents with second homes to offer sanctuary to an Afghan refugee family

The authority says it has committed to providing good quality housing for as many families as possible.

It wants to ensure those settling in the borough are also supported to access public services, such as healthcare and education.

The Government has pledged to rehome 20,000 Afghan refugees through its two newly launched resettlement schemes.
