Lambeth Council installed the temporary “modal filter” on Windmill Drive to make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists.
The authority is now consulting residents on whether it should remain in place.
It has also commissioned a design team to create a permanent layout and says a final decision will be made over the next few months.
