Around 70 people were evacuated from a fire at a row of terraced houses in Thornton Heath

A ruptured gas main caused the blaze on Friday on London Road, with fires involving fuse boxes also causing a power outage.

There were no reports of any injuries.

It’s believed the fire was accidental and caused by a fault in a neutral supply cable.
