The 35-year-old victim was found in Birdhurst Road at around 5am.. Paramedics tried to revive him but he died at the scene.
Officers have issued an appeal for witnesses. They believe the dead man may have attended a house-party nearby before the shooting.
A post-mortem has yet to be carried out. The victim’s family are being supported by specialist officers.
