Nearly 200 dogs were rehomed in Surrey last year despite the pandemic and lockdown.

Figures released by the RSPCA show a “staggering interest” in the amount of families looking for a canine companion.

The “Find A Pet” section of the charity’s website had an 87% spike in applications from the first day of lockdown to the end of December.

October marks Adoptober to encourage any would-be owners to rehome the many dogs still wanting a loving and forever home.
