The chancellor says it's inevitable some people will lose their jobs with furlough ending, but is promising extra help to support anyone who does.

He's spending half a billion pounds over the next three years to help people find new posts following the pandemic.

Lord Norman Lamont was Kingston’s MP for many years, as well as a Chancellor of the Exchequer.

He says the government had to “bite the bullet” and raise national insurance, following the amount they spent during the pandemic.
