Two similar doorstep phone thefts have been reported in the Sutton area in the last week.

In Cheam, a phone was delivered to a resident who hadn’t ordered one, then a man knocked on the door, snatched it and ran off.

In Belmont, two people were waiting outside an address and intercepted a phone about to be delivered.

In the Cheam case, the resident opened the parcel and established the phone provider, which prevented them being billed or taken to court.
