A person from Egham has allegedly been blackmailed, after being lured by people on a dating app

The person had been in conversation with what they believed to be an 18-year-old, and had exchanged numbers and agreed to meet in town.

Instead, the person was met last Monday by two “intimidating males”, described as South Asian in appearance.

They were then blackmailed into sending money, while one suspect deleted app content and messages from the person’s phone.

Anyone with similar experiences is asked to contact Runnymede Police.
