Carshalton’s MP Elliot Colburn will lead a debate in the Commons this afternoon on banning fireworks to the general public.

It’s after more than 300,000 people signed a formal petition.

It called on the government to limit the sale and use of fireworks to organisers of licensed displays only.

Ministers have to debate a petitions once it reaches the 100,000 signature mark.
