Officers have been praised for their quick thinking that saved a man’s life in Hounslow.

On Wednesday 3rd November, they were called to reports of a male in his 20’s who had cut an artery in his arm and was bleeding heavily.

An ambulance called to the scene was delayed so the officers made the decision to apply first aid and transfer the man to A&E himself.

The male arrived at hospital in time to be treated.

Medical staff noted that had his injuries have not been treated as effectively as they were, the outcome could have been very different.
