People in Kingston want to see more independent shops, less empty ones and a prioritisation of green spaces.
Over 1,000 people have taken part in a survey for town centre managers Kingston First.
More than 50% of those surveyed expressed this view, with Kingston First saying the need for more green space is already being addressed.
However,
80% of those who took part rated Kingston highly for its bars and restaurants
and ease of getting around.
