The MP for Carshalton and Wallington has led a debate in Parliament on the potential ban of fireworks to the public.

300,000 people signed a formal petition which meant the subject had to be considered by ministers.

More than 75,000 people also completed Elliot Colburn’s unofficial survey on firework use.

89% of the respondents support a complete ban apart from at organised events.
