A charity in Croydon will have to stop distributing food to foodbanks, after a cut in council funding

Croydon Voluntary Action set up a “food hub” at the start of the first lockdown.

The borough was forced to introduce special measures in order to avoid bankruptcy in November last year, and has scaled back operations.

Council leader Hamida Ali says there have been “difficult decisions” and economic uncertainty has been heightened by COVID-19.
