A former shopkeeper in Mitcham has been ordered to pay over £3,000 after he was found guilty of selling counterfeit tobacco

Theivendram Sivendran, who previously owned the Church Mini Market, pleaded guilty when he appeared in court.

He was in possession of counterfeit Amber Leaf rolling tobacco and packets of Marlboro cigarettes intended for sale in Eastern Europe.

As they were manufactured for a foreign market, the cigarettes had no English-language health warning on them.
