In January last year, police raided an address in Tower Hamlets, and found the cash in a suitcase.
31-year-old Emil Savastru was later arrested at Heathrow while waiting to board a flight to Japan.
He refused to give any information about how he got them or what he planned to do with them.
He’ll be sentenced in February.
