Guildford is one of 39 places hoping to receive city status as part of the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations

The Cayman Islands, Gibraltar and the Falklands are also competing, as it's the first time overseas territories have been eligible to apply for the title.

The winner will be announced in spring next year.
