Mole Valley Council says plans to open another runway at Gatwick are “unacceptable.”

 The airport wants to start operating its “emergency,” or northern runway to help with growing capacity.

Mole Valley Council bosses say there are a number of concerns including noise, air quality, climate change and carbon impacts.

Gatwick says opening the second runway would “reduce delays, bring new global connections and allow us to grow.”
