New research from Kingston University has revealed that branded ingredients could encourage shoppers to spend more.

The study involved over 600 participants online and in a high street coffee shop over six days in two consecutive weeks.

It found a brownie oozing Lindt chocolate enticed people to pay up to 9% more than a brownie using an unnamed chocolate.

The University has concluded that using branded products could benefit all types of service businesses but more research is needed.
