Richmond Council's health visitors have achieved a major milestone in their bid to become fully “Baby Friendly” accredited.

 The initiative is part of a world-wide partnership between the World Health Organization and UNICEF.

Breastfeeding initiation rates across the globe have risen by 20% since the Baby Friendly Initiative was established in 1992.

Richmond has now achieved stage 2 accreditation meaning all staff have been trained to support infant feeding.
