Scientists in Weybridge have not been able to find out how Geronimo the alpaca allegedly caught Tuberculosis.

The animal was put down in earlier this year following two positive tests for TB.

APHA in Weybridge, which is the leading centre for the study of the disease in animals, weren’t able to culture bacteria due to the “complexity of the disease”.

His owner, Helen Macdonald, took the case to the High Court to save him, disputing the test results, but lost the legal battle.

The Daily Mail reports she’s considering suing the government.
