The Wimbledon Championship has recorded a profit of £44m this year, despite much-reduced capacity.

Last year, the All-England Club’s pandemic insurance covered the financial hit, although that couldn’t be secured this year.

In 2019, the club made just under £51m, according to details released to members.

The Lawn Tennis Association will receive most of the profits, promoting the sport from the grassroots through to the professional level.
