A rare red weather warning for wind has been extended to cover south-east England and London, as well as the south-west, brought by Storm Eunice
It could be the worst storm to hit the UK in 30 years.
Trains are cancelled, hundreds of schools shut, and tourist attractions like zoos and the London Eye have closed, too.
Forecasters predict hurricane-force winds, or a phenomenon known as a 'sting jet'.
Richmond Park and Bushy Parks are closed today.
The Royal Parks says Greenwich is also closed, and while the others remain open, their playgrounds will be shut.
The management team says the decision has been based on the age and vulnerability of trees.
A 50 mph speed restriction is in place on South Western Railway services until 9pm.
Surrey Fire and Rescue is urging people to stay indoors where possible.
