A mother and her ex-boyfriend have been found guilty of killing a two-year-old boy in Thornton Heath, after prolonged abuse was captured on secret mobile phone recordings.

A court heard Kyrell Matthews was repeatedly attacked in the weeks before he died at his home in October 2019.

Phylesia Shirley, was found guilty of manslaughter.

Her former partner, Kemar Brown, has been convicted of murder.
