A travelling programme of free cancer checks for men has launched in Croydon
The ‘Man Van’ is a new initiative from The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and its partners. The mobile health clinic will visit workplaces and churches across London to improve healthcare access. It will focus on men of working age who often have worse prostate cancer outcomes than older men. Black men also have roughly double the risk of developing prostate cancer and an increased risk of death once diagnosed. The travelling van will also carry out tests for other health problems like diabetes and high blood pressure. If the pilot is successful, it could be rolled out across the NHS.
