Surrey Police “missed opportunities” to prevent the death of a woman from Ewell

39-year-old Aliny Godinho was murdered by her husband, Ricardo, in 2019.

An inquest has now ruled that her death was “probably more than minimally contributed to” by the force.

She had reported his “controlling” behaviour, and there was confusion over what should happen after her husband found her new address.

Detective Superintendent Julie Parker says “on this occasion we have failed and we are truly sorry”.
