A pub that was popular with Chelsea fans has closed down, leaving people without the “stronghold of culture”.
The Wetherspoon-operated Oyster Rooms on the Fulham Broadway shut down last month, forcing people to more expensive establishments. One fan escalated the issue to parliament, asking the area’s MP Greg Hands why it happened, to which Mr Hands says he has “no idea”. Wetherspoon says the lease expired on March 25th, and all staff were given jobs at other establishments. Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “ We understand that staff and customers will be disappointed with the decision. “On occasion Wetherspoon does close some pubs and this is the case here.”
