MPs say "emails from outraged constituents are pouring in" after Boris Johnson was fined for breaking lockdown rules
Boris Johnson says he has an 'obligation' to remain in his post as Prime Minister - despite being fined for breaking lockdown rules. He's had to pay £50 after attending a gathering in Downing Street on his birthday in 2020 where he was presented with a cake. Two separate polls suggest more than half of voters think he should step down. Chancellor Rishi Sunak's also apologised - but says he's 'focused on delivering for the British people'. Twickenham Lib Dem MP Munira Wilson says “emails from outraged constituents are pouring in”, including from an NHS nurse who says the pandemic caused them to be “pushed to the limit”. Mitcham and Morden Labour MP Siobhain McDonagh says “emails are coming in angrier and more personal than I have known them”.
