A new woodland is to be created in Richmond Park to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Manger, The Royal Parks, will start planting 70 trees in an area slightly larger than two football pitches in the winter. The woodland, costing £100,000, will be situated close to Ham Cross plantation. The money is coming from The Royal Parks, The Friends of Richmond Park, and the People’s Postcode Lottery. The woodland will be fenced to protect trees from browsing deer.
