A trio of singing soldiers has reformed after a decade to release a Platinum Jubilee tribute single for the Queen
The group says the song is its way of showing gratitude to the service Her Majesty has given the country and Commonwealth. Profits from sales of the single will be going to charities supported by the Royal Family. Captain Gary Chilton, Veteran Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi and Warrant Officer Richie Maddocks have a combined total of over 70 years of service. Warrant Officer Maddocks joined the army at the age of 16 in 1988. He was deployed to countries including Iraq before becoming an instructor with the Royal Military School of Music in Twickenham. Not only is this a tribute to The Queen, but it is also Officer Maddock’s “swan song” as he is due to leave service this summer.
