A Virgin Atlantic plane's had to turn back, after it emerged a pilot hadn't completed their final flying test

The Airbus A330 was around forty minutes into its flight from Heathrow to New York when staff became aware of the 'rostering error'.

A replacement first officer was then found.

Virgin says it made the move to comply with its training protocols, which go beyond 'industry standards'.
