Boris Johnson's facing a backlash from local parties - after the Conservatives suffered heavy election losses
In votes counted so far, the Tories have lost more than 100 council seats in England. Three London authorities fell to Labour - including Wandsworth for the first time in 44 years. Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer's hailed the results a 'turning point'. But his party hasn't made as many gains as some had hoped for - and lost Hull to the Liberal Democrats. Labour's Simon Hogg is the new leader of Wandsworth Council in London. He explains why he thinks it's swung from the Tories.
Liberal Democrat MP for Twickenham, Munira Wilson is pleased with the early results. Richmond and Sutton have remained Lib Dems, while Hammersmith, Hounslow and Merton have stayed Labour.
