It’s not envisaged that parking charges will be introduced in Richmond Park just yet
Richmond Park MP, Sarah Olney, says she has met with park bosses to discuss a range of issues concerning her constituents. The Royal Parks consulted the public on its Movement Strategy, which looks at ways of reducing car travel in the park, last year. The management group has confirmed it will be bringing in some changes as a result of the plan to “enhance pedestrian safety.” The final decision to adopt it will be made later in the year. But Ms Olney has told her constituents that any plans to introduce parking charges will need an Act of Parliament to implement. The Lib Dem says she “does not envisage Parliamentary time being given to this in the current session.”
