Police are urging owners of keyless cars to have the correct security installed after a vehicle was stolen in Ashtead

It’s believed the Mercedes was stolen from Harriotts Lane between 7pm last night and 8am this morning.

Criminals use a technique called key cloning which copies the signal from the key inside your house, among others.

It can take as little as 60 second for criminals to grab the signal from the smart key to start your car.
