They say it’s part of ongoing industrial action over four issues including excessive workloads and insecure temporary contracts.
Staff will stop all activity related to grading and assessing students’ work including exam papers.
They warn this may affect the release of final grades.
A Kingston University spokesperson said:
‘It is disappointing that the Kingston UCU branch have decided to promote an assessment boycott at a time when 86% of university branches have rejected this form of action.
Students have shown remarkable resilience and determination to continue their studies through the pandemic, and the university is committed to ensuring that they are not impacted by this action, which we believe will be undertaken by fewer than 10% of staff.
Our assessment process will continue, and we do not anticipate much, if any impact on students. The university remains committed to national pay bargaining and continues to negotiate with the UCU at a local level on other issues.’
