The Met Police recorded 510 e-scooter casualties in London last year which is more than double the year before.

Nine deaths were also reported across England, Scotland and Wales, one of which was Twickenham shopkeeper, Tony Mumford.

Use of privately-owned e-scooters on public roads is illegal, although certain devices can be used via a rental scheme.

Emily Hartridge was believed to have been the first person in the UK killed in a crash involving an e-scooter in Battersea in 2019.
