£6 million has been granted to make Surrey Roads safer over the next 3 years.

£1m per year aims to improve safety and encourage more walking and cycling around schools, new crossings and speed limits.

Another £1m per year will help tackle speeding including highway schemes, speed cameras and average speed checks.

£200,000 will be dedicated to highway improvements where previous improvements have led to a 30 – 40% reduction in the number of casualties.
