A man has been jailed, after repeatedly attacking a woman, then going on a campaign to try and kidnap her after she fled

27-year-old Michael Maughan, of no fixed address, stayed at hotels in Chiswick and Hammersmith with the victim in April 2021. 

After she informed the police and tried to hide, Maughan visited a salon in Edgware she frequented, and threatened the staff to the point that one resigned. 

At his sentencing, the judge said it was “a campaign of the most appalling treatment many in this court may have seen”.
