Boris Johnson's described strikes which have crippled the rail network as 'unnecessary aggravation'
Tens of thousands of RMT members have walked out in a row about jobs and pay.
Unions accuse the government of slashing rail funding.
Just 20 percent of services will run today - while large parts of the country will have no trains at all.
Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng says Labour should “bite the hand that feeds them” and not stand “idly by” while businesses suffer.
Battersea Labour MP Marsha De Cordova says “The RMT is standing up for rail workers against cuts and proposed pay rises that are well below inflation”.
Deputy PM and Esher Tory MP Dominic Raab says the strikes are “unnecessary, irresponsible and counter-productive”, and that Labour have “actively encouraged” it.
Streatham Labour MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy says the government needs to “fund rail properly, protect jobs & pay rail workers fairly”.
The Prime Minister's chaired a cabinet meeting as people across Britain have struggled to get to work and school.
