Hounslow’s parks team is urging visitors to its parks and open spaces to be aware of Moth infestations.

The infestations of caterpillars can cause eye and throat irritations in humans and cause oak trees to be stripped of their leaves.

They can be easily spotted by their long white hairs and the way they travel in nose-to-tail processions.

The council and GreenSpace 360 are in the process of removing the caterpillars of the Oak processionary moth which nest in oak trees.
